Delta Discusses Its Coral Restoration Initiative, High Temperature Tolerant Coral Genes and Blue Carbon Materials with Top Experts at Blue Belt Action Hub COP27

TAIPEI, November 17, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Delta Electronics Foundation participated in the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt by hosting a side event and an Action Hub event on November 16, in which he shared his coral restoration initiative with the international climate science community in collaboration with the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, the Partnership for Global Ocean Watch (POGO), and the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF). These ecosystems can gradually recover after we reach net-zero emissions targets.”

Te-Hao Chen, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, also visited Egypt personally to advance the Taiwan’s research on the cultivation of refractory corals and gene conservation. He said the Aquarium will be committed to selecting and nurturing refractory corals to develop a “coral ark” where a live coral culture and gene bank can be created on site.
