Lance Bass doesn’t think Britney Spears is done with music for good.

The NSYNC alum, who is longtime friends with the “Toxic” singer, spoke with him Rolling Stone this week about the potential of the pop star to make new music. He explained that while he wants the artist – who was controversially released from custody last year – to do whatever she is “comfortable” with at this stage in life, he thinks she will Spears wants to take the stage again in the end.

“I’m sure she’s not thinking about performing and being on set anywhere, but I know Britney, and she loves to perform,” he told the magazine. “She loves being an entertainer, and I see her back on that stage at some point.”

In her conservatism, Spears portrayed her A piece of me resident concert at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas from 2013 to 2017. However, in 2019, she shared that she was putting it off indefinitely dominationciting her father’s health issues.

Bass added that we’re “begging her to make new music,” and that her new song with Elton John, “Hold Me Closer,” was a great “glimpse” of what could come next — like with “full album.”

“If she goes on tour with him or not, it doesn’t matter. We just want the music,” Bass said. “Give us music, girl. We are all rooting for her.”

As for Spears, she shared in a since-removed Instagram post that she was “traumatized” by her past experiences about her conservatism, and “she’ll probably act out again just because I’m stubborn and I’ll make my point.”

Whether or not the Crossroads The actress returns to the show, Bass said she has plenty of support after her “traumatic experience” that took up “the last 10 years of her life”. He added that the two are expected to “get together” and “hang out with the kids at some point.” Bass and husband Michael Turchin welcomed triplets in 2022.

The pop icons’ friendship dates back to the ’90s, with Spears previously dating NSYNC bassist Justin Timberlake from 1998 to 2002. In a 2019 appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Livethe openly gay star told Cohen that he came out to Spears after her spontaneous 2004 wedding to friend Jason Alexander, two years before Bass publicly shared his sexuality.

“I went up to Vegas to see the craziness that was happening. And she was a little upset when she realized what she had done because, you know, it was a funny thing,” he explained. “And so I took her to her room and we were sitting on her bed and she wouldn’t stop crying, so I was like, ‘I’m gay.’ And it ended with her crying. She laughed.”
