There was no way Paula Abdul would miss Kelly Clarkson’s big moment.
On Monday, the daytime talk show host, 40, was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, along with the original three. American Idol the judges — Simon Cowell, Abdul and Randy Jackson — reunited to show their support.
“I’m so proud to be here, I’m honored,” Abdul, 60, said during her speech in support of Clarkson, who became the first person. Idol winner 20 years ago. “I changed my flight so I could be here. I wouldn’t see her for the world. Kelly – not only did you change the trajectory of your life, but you helped change the trajectory of everyone’s life.”
Abdul briefly joined Cowell’s speech, prompting the speechless judge to crack some jokes before the “Opposites Attract” singer praised Clarkson for her “talent,” “toughness,” “grace” and “dignity.”

She said Clarkson “made season one really worth it,” joking, “Even if I had to sit next to a British guy to my left. And a great guy to my right.”
Abdul continued: “If anyone can say, in their wildest dreams, ‘Did you ever think you’d be part of a show that changed the world?,’ I’d be a liar if I would say it was. living re-proof every day, and I’m the one who would force myself to talk to her and corner her in the elevator. ‘Where did you get your training? But I love you.’

Abdul thanked Clarkson “for changing the trajectory of my life and making me believe like a child believes in Santa Claus. Young, talented people can do it – and they can do it big time.”
She finished by telling Clarkson, whom she called “the sweetest person”, that she can’t wait to see what she achieves in the next ten years.
Shortly thereafter, Clarkson received his highly anticipated star.

On September 4, Clarkson reflected on the 20th anniversary of her “priceless” Idol win
“The family and friendships I have created during these 20 years in music and television are precious to me,” she wrote in part. “We only get so many trips around the sun and while I am proud and blessed in abundance for the successes and failures I have learned from, I am most proud and grateful for those friends who have become family, and from their arms that died. they held me when I needed it and their hearts listened to me when I felt lost. Without them I would not be where I am. I probably wouldn’t be here at all.”
