Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: TE, K, DEF

George Kittle is set to make his 2022 debut in Denver, Zach Ertz looks for an easy reception against the Rams, and Tyler Higbee tries to prove he can be a TE1.

Other positions: Quarterback | Run Back | Receiver

Week 3 Tight end

TE Notes: It was an exciting Week 2 for Darren Waller, who was isolated at linebacker in the red zone and quickly recovered for a touchdown by Derek Carr. With Davante Adams terrifying against defenses in the paint, there will be no shortage of looks at Waller. … George Kittle (groin) appears set to start in 2022. With Jimmy Garoppolo under center and the 49ers possibly looking to reduce the snaps/blocking load on Kittle as he returns in the shape of the game, it can be expected that his primary contributions Week 3 in the game will be accepted. … Falcons coach Arthur Smith was extremely defensive about his use of Kyle Pitts. The guy doesn’t seem to know how to drive a Lamborghini. I hope this faith is not blind, but it is impossible to believe that the big game is not coming. … Dallas Goedert’s 10 targets don’t blow the barn doors off, but he has gained 142 yards in this high-performing offense. The Commanders are a good game.

Healthy in Week 2, Zach Ertz directed 11 targets. There is no better place for Kyler Murray to funnel the ball. … Pat Freiermuth was one of the Steelers’ lone bright spots. Expect Mitch Trubisky to continue checking him down. … And Amon-Ra St. With Brown and D’Andre Swift making the Lions’ offense more dynamic, TJ Hockenson appears to be settling in as a “clean up the lane three” scorer. … With the Rams’ offense running low on ideas, Tyler Higbee’s “lots of goals” are carrying the day right now. The Cardinals bled fantasy points to Travis Kelce and Darren Waller in Weeks 1 and 2. Those tight ends are good, of course. … Gerald Everett, while frustrated, is being put in a better position to make plays than Dawson Knox. As feared, Knox isn’t leading a bigger target share to offset what was just some touchdown regression. … With the Chiefs being cut loose like few teams in the league, Logan Thomas is leaking a lot of cheap looks.

Speaking of cheap looks, Evan Engram is getting them in Jacksonville. The Jags are putting Engram in a position to measure yardage after the catch. … Irv Smith showed signs of life during Week 2. It was at a time when fantasy managers are hoping to be the point guard for the Lions this week. … Hunter Henry got a carton of milk through two games. Since there isn’t much to take home about in the TE12-20 range, I feel compelled to bet that Henry’s red zone appearance will eventually return. … As long as Joe Flacco is starting and posting at least 44 attempts, Tyler Conklin will provide TE2 appeal based on usage. … Cole Kmet donuts are puke. The biggest problem is that there will be a non-existent cap if the Bears don’t start allowing Justin Fields to throw at least 25 times per game. It was not revealed that the offense. … Mike Gesicki is resurfacing because he has some playmaking ability in what will be a spiked week offense. … There is no change for David Njoku. … Juwan Johnson is holding his own for the TE2 week.
